17.09.2026, 20:00 – Black Sheriff | Live Music at Sowiso - Ocean Aachen

Black Sheriff are the Irish / German / Mexican Rock n Roll bastardisation of The Dead Boys, Mötley Crüe and KISS. Formed in 2006 in Cologne, Germany by Glen Clarke (vocals, guitar), the band exploded onto the scene with their self-titled debut album. Playing and writing as much as they could, the boys burned out a bunch of bass players, drummers and a founding member until the current lineup featuring Lukas Strunck on drums and Diego “The Bulldozer” Mendoza on bass recorded the up-and-coming masterpiece, aptly entitled “Time To Burn”. Featuring special guests Ross "The Boss" Friedman, of “Manowar” and “The Dictators” fame, whose screaming lead guitar adds the icing on the cake to two tracks, and Lisa Kekuela of “The Bellrays”, whose beautiful, soulful voice makes "One You Love" a perfect rock hit, this album just keeps on giving. The band has played in front of thousands one day and in front of 5 folk the next. Do they give a fuck? Do they give less? No!! “It doesn’t matter how many people you play for, that one guy in the corner paid his 10 bucks to see a show and that’s what he’s gonna get.” The boys have just released their fifth album “Time To Burn” on Savage Magic Records. Come to the show and Drink Out Loud!! We got it, you want it!!!

30.07.2026, 20:00 – Phil Young | Live Music at Sowiso - Ocean Aachen

Phil Young is a singer-songwriter, producer and sound explorer – an artist who shapes his music himself, from the first idea to the final note. In his songs, he tells stories about the quiet moments of life, love and all the subtle nuances that often say more than big words.

What makes his music special is its affectionate look back – without being nostalgic. Phil lets the spirit of the 1970s shine through, combining warm piano sounds, classical strings and handmade sounds with modern production. He relies on analogue technology, giving his music depth, character and a special authenticity.

He started playing piano as a child and later taught himself guitar – with the energy and independence of his early punk rock years still subtly present in his sound today. His voice is warm, powerful and direct – reaching the heart without detours.

Phil Young does not make music off the shelf. He makes music with soul. For people who want to truly listen.

30.07.2026, 20:00 – Mätti Hoff | Live Music at Sowiso - Ocean Aachen

Mätti Hoff is a German-language singer-songwriter from Cologne. He writes songs about self-discovery, new beginnings and the moments that truly change us – honest, direct and always based on personal experience. His sound moves between acoustic pop and singer-songwriter music, somewhere between John Mayer, Clueso and Bosse.

What defines Mätti Hoff on stage is his consistent reduction: no effects, no digital processing – just voice, guitar, piano and bass, performed live. This approach creates a sense of immediacy that carries over to the audience. His concerts are deliberately held in intimate settings – between 30 and 150 people – and thrive on genuine closeness between artist and listener.

Since 2023, he has been playing regular concerts throughout the German-speaking region. A special proof of his stage presence came at the city final of the SPH Music Masters Cologne: as the only singer-songwriter among four metal bands, he won over the audience with 93 to 63 votes. The feedback afterwards summed it up perfectly: “I would never listen to your music, but tonight you moved me.”

With a consistent release strategy, Mätti Hoff has been regularly releasing new songs since early 2025. “Collagen”, “Fenster runter” and “Timing” represent an artist who knows what he wants to say – and how to say it. Mätti Hoff understands music not as a product, but as a connection. An evening with him is not a concert in the classical sense – it is a moment in which people come a little closer to themselves and to each other.

In 2017, born out of necessity, he stepped onto the stage alone for the first time – with acoustic guitar and harmonica. Since then, it’s been distortion out, storytelling in.

Away from his regular gigs in the most beautiful city in the world, he roams the back roads of Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands in his old camper. Wherever he ends up, there are songs and stories about small dreams, big failures, long nights and heavy hangovers. The fine line between comedy and tragedy – in three minutes and four chords.

In September 2019, the Jülicher Herzog magazine wrote about us:

“...Even in this formation, Tobias Birx allows the mix of introverted Cobain grunge with 60s harmonies and exultant punk rock up to floating 70s sounds to come together. From ‘Hello’ to ‘Teneriffa’ to ‘D241’: somehow timeless music, but always very idiosyncratic and consistent in the approach of avoiding modern trends unless they can be integrated into the concept. With drummer Mario Tranziska, he delivers the songs spot on, without a bassist being missed.”
